The latest volume in the series Works by Chopin. Facsimile Edition (series no. A II/25) consists of a complete manuscript Stichvorlage of the Etudes, Op. 25, prepared for the German publisher Breitkopf & Härtel. The set of manuscripts contains two autographs written out entirely in Chopin’s hand (Nos. 1 and 8) and ten copies authorised, corrected and supplemented by the composer. The complete set is currently held in the Biblioteka Narodowa in Warsaw under the shelf-mark Mus.217 Cim. The facsimiles are accompanied by a source commentary by Dr hab. Zofia Chechlińska. |
