‘Moje wspomnienia z Litwy’ are recollections of Władyszław Bichniewicz, a grandson of Fryderyk Chopin’s oldest sister, Ludwika Jędrzejewiczowa, and an owner of the Poniemunik estate in Lithuania. They tell about the first half of the 20th century, the final episode in the history of the Polish gentry.

Before the death, the author gave the manuscript with his memories to the then Museum of the Fryderyk Chopin Society in Warsaw. Probably thanks to this, over fifty years later, they can be presented to the Readers and to those who are interested in the history of Polish-Lithuanian relations in the 20th century. It is also an important publication for those who nostalgically go back to the memory of the Polish gentry in the so-called Northeastern Borderlands, a class that does not exists anymore.

The publication is available to buy in the brick and mortar shops of The Chopin Institute as well the online store.
