Consummate performances of exquisite Polish and other chamber works
Ensemble Dialoghi, four superb musicians headed by the brilliant clarinettist Lorenzo Coppola, recorded the pearls of chamber music from the first half of the 19th century for the Chopin Institute. They are Franciszek Lessel’s Grand Trio, Robert Schumann’s Fantasiestücke and Fryderyk Chopin’s Trio in G minor, the last especially arranged for a clarinet, a cello, and a piano by Lorenzo Coppola. The artist, who treats music as an intimate life companion, made a following comment on it for the CD:
“In this recording, we have endeavoured to underscore certain theatrical gestures, many of them dramatic some comical, that you can glean from those three scores that are a particular invitation to an emotional journey between lightness and intensity. (…) We, the musicians of the Ensemble Dialoghi are happy to share with you those handful of selected gems that can be found in the fabulously rich treasury of the music repertoire, just the way we do it at the concerts.”
