And here is one more, already the third royal serving of Moniuszko’s songs performed by the excellent Mariusz Godlewski and Radosław Kurek, released by The Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
Mariusz Godlewski, in love with songs and an expert in vocal lyric, is one of the most outstanding Polish singers. The Chopin Institute invited him to work on Stanisław Moniuszko's short pieces, which he has been doing for many years, presenting them during concerts and recording them with great success. The album is released at a time when the artist has been awarded the prestigious Cyprian Kamil Norwid Prize, granted by the Local Government of the Mazovian Voivodeship, for his previous volume of songs by the father of Polish national opera and his performance as Podczaszyc in the recording of Moniuszko’s Hrabina (The Countess) with Europa Galante under the baton of Fabio Biondi, also released by The Institute.
The original Krall & Seidler with its beautiful timbre, the piano once played by Stanislaw Moniuszko himself, gives this new edition a special touch.
