The book tells a story about Chopin’s childhood and youth. It is a result of deep and detailed studies on the subject done by the author (letters, biographies, documents). In the way easily understood for young readers the book shows the less popular image of Chopin: a broadly talented, full of the sense of humour boy and at the same time a genius pianist and composer. The author spins a story, which starts with Mikołaj Chopin’s arrival to Żelazowa Wola, where Fryderyk’s parents met and Fryderyk was born into this world. Then we move together with the Chopins family to Warsaw, where Frycek spent his childhood and youth. The illustrations by Józef Wilkoń are undoubtedly one of the publication’s chief assets.
