A double-CD with recordings of J J Jun Li Bui – 6th Prize winner at the most recent Chopin Competition – is the newest publication in the so-called Blue Series, showcasing the most interesting personalities in the subsequent editions of the Competition. The Canadian pianist, at the time only 17 years old, performed, among other pieces, Mazurkas, Op. 24, Rondo à la Mazur in F major, Op. 5, Andante spianato and Polonaise in E flat major, Op. 22, the Sonata in B minor op. 58, and the Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 11 (with the Warsaw Philharmonic Symphonic Orchestra under the baton of Andrzej Boreyko).

Warsaw in October 2021 was home to consummate piano musicianship. The 18th Chopin Competition brought together the superbly talented virtuosos and was certainly one of the best in the nearly 100 years of the event’s history. Now those special moments can be recalled thanks to the recordings released by the Chopin Institute.
